Our farm & animals
Your picture-perfect farm holiday in Meransen
Our family has owned the Wieserhof farm for over 200 years. In 2023, we were honoured with the South Tyrolean Erbhof award – a privilege only granted to traditional inherited farms that have been managed by the same family for several generations, and in direct succession. This is something we’re proud of and intend to keep that way. We work together as a family to manage our two farms, Wieserhof and Samerhof, as well as our Alpine pastures and cheese dairy – a work of passion and vision. At Wieserhof, our cows live in an animal-friendly free-stall barn, and we use innovative methods such as automatic milking and feeding to support us in our daily work. If you’re curious, you are welcome to watch us at work from the viewing balcony.
So many animals!
Mia the cat, rabbits and guinea pigs, goats, ducks, cows and calves, a donkey and a couple of senior chickens: with so many animals, there’s never a dull moment on our farm! Some of our cows spend the summer months grazing the fresh grass around the Wieserhütte hut in the nearby Altfasstal valley… and look forward to meeting you there!
